WV Virtual
WV Virtual (also called WV Learns) is only available to students through recommendation from their school counselor or administrator. Please contact your school for more information.
Any student enrolled in WV Virtual (grades 8 - 12) will see the WV Virtual class listed in his/her Schoology, but the class will be blank. Students MUST log on to the WV Virtual platform to access the class (use the link above or go to wvlearns.k12.wv.us).
All password protected tests must be proctored by a Preston County Schools employee (who is not a relative of the student). Tests will be proctored in person or by video conference with the local school teacher, the PHS Academic Success classroom teacher or through arrangements (made in advance) with the Preston County Virtual School office.
Credits are awarded in half credits (by semester). Students must monitor their own grades as term report cards are not issued. Grades are only issued at semester and transcripted. All courses in WV Virtual are front loaded with all content and material for the entire semester as well as all grades. Thus, the grades are all zeros to start, as the student completes work the zero is replaced. Some teachers set their gradebooks to reflect accurately the grade-to-date in mid-term and/or final grades, but others do not. Students should track their own grades and/or contact their WV Virtual teacher with any grading concerns. To log on the student will use his/her student e-mail address and password. Parents may sign up for a parent auditor account at http://wveis.k12.wv.us/vschool/parent/auditor.cfm
